Solid shutters

Solid shutters were traditionally used in Victorian properties to increase insulation and security.

Solid shutters are still very popular in Victorian homes as owners carefully restore or replicate period features. These shutters were originally made from pine or cedar, however today, solid panel shutters are made using a hardwood to provide a traditional look with a long life span. You can also opt for a solid base with a louvred top section.

As well as enhancing the value of your property, installing solid shutters in your home will give you a number of excellent benefits. Solid panel shutters are more efficient at insulating from outside noises than louvre shutters and offer near black out from light.

Our solid shutters are available in our Portland hardwood range with a solid raised panel.
